February's Theme: Love to Give, Burn, and Plan has taken us from passion to decision--and this week it's important to move toward the longer lasting form of love: a lifestyle! Yes, when you love to give (money and time) you will transition from the impulsive giving to a steady, stream of giving that spans your lifetime! When you love to burn calories as a lifestyle, you'll find yourself planning healthy eating and regular exercise into every week of every year (during bad weather, holidays and vacations) because you enjoy it, need it, love it! And when you love to plan your time--not ever expecting to have more time on your hands than things to do--you'll realize that the best days, weeks, months, and years are the ones that have been planned in advance!
This week, in your journal, brainstorm ideas of what the ideal LIFE of giving, burning, and planning would look like...by answering these 3 questions (FYI: I will give you some practical ideas on our weekly call):
What would MY LIFE look like if I made GIVING (money and time) a Lifestyle?
How can I make burning calories A LIFELONG pursuit that I love?
What do I need to change/do/revise to increase my commitment to planning my life in daily, weekly, monthly increments?
Loving to "do the right thing" is way more fun than struggling, resenting, or resisting it! Let's LOVE to give, burn, and plan for a lifetime together, okay?
Be encouraged,
Becky

As a professional educator planning is a given. However, my organizer and plans seldom include "me" time. The reminder that planning time for prayer, bible study, and for me is awesome. And, the encouragement to put the pledge or commitment in writing is exceptional. Both are items I have been doing for my profession and now personally.
I just listened to the playback of this weeks call. Thanks Becky for the practical ideas of implementing these new habits. I am giving myself permission to realize that even if I do just a little bit of any of them each day/week that it is a good thing.
I am having to break old habits to implement the new. It will take time.
Perhaps I'm giving TOO many ideas in each call/week. Especially for those of us in the SMCT group for the entire year, I should be giving fewer ideas so that we can "master" them one week at a time! Thanks for the gentle nudge:)
On the other hand, because we are of all different personalities and at differing stages of life, I encourage each person to stay focused on their personal goals and use as much or as little of my practical advice as necessary to stay on target.
Be encouraged,
Becky
I like the way you are doing it Becky. I print the lesson for the week, then listen to the call and take notes. I am keeping a notebook for review. I can choose which suggestion to work on. Then, I can look at the notebook to move on to another. Knowing I have information as to "how" to implement these ideas is priceless.
God bless Becky today.
I'm doing the same as G.M.V.
I'm keeping a notebook and reviewing ideas and finding that certain things jog my memory to remind me what was discussed.
My biggest problem right now is, I am a compulsive list maker.
I have so many things hitting me all day (like when my husband calls me with business stuff and says 'Don't forget....'. I'm always frantic about forgetting.
I have a nice Dayrunner system, with inserts from a Christian planner system which was out a few years ago (I bought up the planner sections when they discontinued the product). My biggest problem is, getting everything in there, instead of all over the house.
That's what I am working on right now, that and the time blocks. But overall Becky, I think the fact you are giving us so many examples, is making it really applicable to lots of different people and daily lifestyles. I think we all appreciate the time and effort you have put into gathering the information and ideas for us!
I have started doing workouts on "Exercise TV" which have been great! If you have 10 minutes, there is a workout for you...or even longer! I think you can google their website. I had to stop going to the Pilates studio to save $$, so this is perfect. It also saves time traveling to and back from a gym. And I take our dog out everyday which gets me out in the fresh air and sunshine.
Keep up all the great tips Becky!
I like the notebook idea too!
