Week 11: Save Time Daily

This week, I am reminded that time is a gift. How we use our time (1) can impact others positively or negatively, and (2) affects how we experience our day (ex: anxiety or stress or guilt or satisfaction or elation).

So this week, our call and our assignment is to spend every "chunk" of our time wisely! Since you all seem to like the "quick ways to remember" the weekly tips, I'm going to make a list of abbreviations so you have to listen to the call in order to find out what they are!!

CAC before you go to bed!
BOT for everything!
RWW is relaxing!
TOE before departing!
HAP for your day!

Enjoy!

Becky

I am desperate for this weeks encouragement. I have a paper due in 2 weeks for a college class and I have lots of family and church commitments. I am super stressed out. I had been doing so well but the stress has caused me to "backslide" from my previous accomplishments of following our groups goals. I haven't given up and believe the Lord can help me get back on track. But I really need your prayers to make wise use of my time. Because of the paper I am now super behind in everything else and feel so overwhelmed. Thanks for your prayers.

Every 3rd Wednesday is a day of fasting and prayer at our church--so I was home praying and reading...so I'm "on top of it" right now--praying for God's presence and peace to overwhelm you, for His focus and purpose to consume you. Give him everything that you can in this minute--if you have to take a "kneel and prayer" break, do so. He is listening.

Jennygrace, praying God will help you get your paper done, but also help you with your other activities as well (and some time for just you and Him!).
Becky, I appreciate the Becky-isms.
They are so helpful, and come to mind so easily (well, once I memorize what they stand for).
My favorite is RWW, though lately also CWW (my friend is teaching me to crochet, and I plan to make it portable!).
Hap--Keeping planned time with God is my most needed. My pastor is a very thorough verse by verse expositor, and last Sunday he stated that he is reading his one year Bible without digging! Just reading and listening. Good reminder for me. Going to try to carry my CYL Bible with me (not in my purse.)
blessings!

Becky first of all thank you for the coupon!

I LOVED the advice for this week. I am unable to do the calls "live," but I listen sometime between 4 and 6 PM each Weds to the recording and look forward to it! I am a busy, working mom, but I cannot tell you how many times I have been caught at the orthodontist's or waiting for the carpool, etc for my kids without reading or writing material with me! UGH! Never again.

Jennygrace, my best advice is to give it all to God. You sound pretty young and, having always been the overachieving type, I was stressed out from high school on up. Only in the last few years have I learned how to give God my cares and worries and I am in a much more peaceful place. Praying for you!

Thank you ladies very much for your prayer and encouragememt. I should have taken the time, but I was in a hurry , to explain that actually I am 51 years and Lord Willing , will be getting my bachelors degree, only 30 years late in May. That is why the research paper is causing me so much stress. I have not written one in 30 years, plus, I work full time , am a Pastors wife, have a high school senior and a son getting married this summer. (Plus 2 other kids in college) I felt so much better today (Thursday, felt like now I can do it ) Now I know why, it was your prayers for me yesterday.
Keep praying and I am looking forward to reporting a much better week next Wednesday.

LOL Jenny I guess I should have checked your age! :) I completely understand how you feel, but you can do it!!!! I had to walk into a school crisis a couple of weeks ago and talk to entire classrooms. The only way I managed was to ask God to help me through it and I prayed "I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me!" as I walked in and God helped me formulate each thought and sentence!

Jennygrace: My best friend got her teaching degree at age 40-something, while working and raising two kids. Now she is getting her masters, while being a full time instructional coach to teachers and now the kids are teens.
you can do it, you can do it, you can!

I too worked on a masters degree while working full time and living life. Edith Schaeffer once said that life is a series of interruptions. Isn't that true? Another friend of mine always says to just keep putting one foot in front of the other, do the next thing and keep trusting God. I so often get overwhelmed with life. I pray that I always remember to put on the armour of God. All that we are "doing" in this life is part of the spiritual battle...the unseen battle. I am lifed and encouraged to read each comment...knowing that we are limited by time on this earth. Thank you Becky for your continued encouragement to fall on our faces before the living God. For the encouragement to pray for the will to keep moving "doing the next thing" while walking in His light.
