This week's assignment is take each area of our three-prong approach to change your life in the 1st Quarter of 2009 (approximately 77 days left) and determine your goals--make them practical and do-able; we will evaluate every few weeks to assess our progress!
Money: Debt Freeze...Do you plan to pay down debt and/or save? In your journal, on one page, titled "Money", determine your goal, divide it into three blocks (one block for each month), then divide those blocks by the number of weeks in each month (3 weeks left in January, etc.). If you are in the year long group, you can "go after" all 52 weeks, so take each Quarter at a time.
Calories: Melt Off Fat...Do you need to lose weight? In your journal, on one page, titled "Calories", determine your weight/inch loss goal, divide it into three blocks (one block for each month--Jan., Feb., Mar.), then divide those blocks by weekly goals.
We'll talk about specific Week 2 goals on the January 7th phone call.
Time: Conserve Time...for the next 90 days--you have to trust me here, I want you to spend at least 10 minutes a day talking to God and listening to God in your Retro journal or current prayer notebook. Talk in writing, Listen by reading the Bible daily. If you do not currently follow a Bible reading plan, read one chapter of Proverbs a day for the next 31 days.

Becky, as always, I enjoyed today's call.
I appreciate your sharing about the monthly debt you are facing.
I have to make a choice to sign up for health insurance for us, at the rate of over $900 a month.
We don't have it. I can't imagine paying it, but we have medical situations that require it.
Personally, we don't have a hard time saving money.
But being small business owners, we do.
I'm looking to God daily this year, as I work side by side with this group, to provide for these needs.

I enjoyed the call today. I look forward to this adventure with you and the group.
This group came at just the right time in my life. I am going through the hardest season I have ever had to endure, and there are days I feel overwhelmed and grossly unequipped. I had lost 38 pounds about a year ago only to gain back 20 pounds from the added stress I am facing. I had allowed quiet time and exercise to fall away and found myself just worrying and eating all the time. I wish I could say that I have turned the corner and am on the right track, because I am not. But this accountability group will help me to slowly get my priorities in order and remind me again and again each week that I am not alone, God does hear me, and that He is able to do great things in and through me if I yield myself to Him.
I have been spending time in the Word this week and have heard God reassuring me that He is in control. I found the "shop my closet" theme for the week to be timely. I can only fit into two pair of pants right now because of my weight gain. I find myself wearing only exercise pants because they're stretchy.... which is ironic because I haven't exercised in a couple of weeks. But I am committed to getting my priorities in order.
I am taking it day by day. Thanks for having this group, Becky. I hope to get to know everyone a little better as we go along.
